In 2017, she earned an Honours Bachelor of Social Science with a specialization in Criminology and a Minor in Sociology from the University of Ottawa. She will be providing counselling as a Psychotherapy Student Intern under the supervision of Rachael Riethman, Registered Psychotherapist, owner of Sandstone Psychotherapy & Counselling.

Amanda has been working for a non-profit organization since 2017, where she facilitates an addiction recovery program for people who have been incarcerated. This work has provided her with extensive knowledge of addiction as well as experience working with people who are constantly striving to improve various aspects of their lives. She has also served as a mentor for many undergraduate university students who are just starting out in her field.

Soon after starting her work in addictions, Amanda realized how much experience she was gaining from the various mental health challenges that come with substance abuse. This motivated her to pursue graduate studies in the hopes of eventually expanding her clientele and assisting people who face unique challenges. Amanda is excited to bring a holistic approach to her psychotherapy practice as she helps her clients deal with life’s challenges.

In her down time, Amanda likes to spend time with loved ones, particularly her two giant-breed dogs. She also has a passion for health and fitness.
